Grants & Loans

Groups,  501(c), or other agencies can partner with the Gallatin CD to apply for grants to support natural resource based projects, including education and outreach programs. Grants would be administered by the Gallatin CD. Any party interested in a grant program is encouraged to work with the CD on project ideas, partner opportunities, and resource benefit prior to beginning a project. The CD prefers to be actively involved in proposed grant projects and potential grants should align with the CD’s mission. Applicants should have a federal tax ID, workers compensation (or appropriate exemption) and depending on the project, business insurance. Gallatin CD does typically receive 5-10% for administering grants.

As the partner agency of Conservation Districts, the MT Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) administers State grant funds that only Conservation Districts can apply for, in addition to a number of other grant and loan programs. These grants can support a number of different natural resource projects and education programs. Please visit the following link to see a list of grants available through DNRC.
