Gallatin Conservation District offers an array of educational resources, events, and opportunities for youth, adults, and community events throughout the year.

Rolling Rivers Trailer: The Gallatin Conservation District’s Rolling Rivers Trailer is an exciting educational tool used to teach Southwestern Montana’s youth and adults about how rivers work and why they are such an important natural resource.

Education & Outreach Center: The Education & Outreach Center (EOC) provides the public with an outdoor area that demonstrates conservation practices of natural resources landowners can implement. The EOC is a place where educational, hands-on learning opportunities occur for youth and adults.

Adult Education: The Gallatin Conservation District conducts workshops and seminars throughout the year specializing in land management and related conservation topics. Our goal is to empower landowners and other community members with the necessary tools and resources for optimal natural resource-based management.

Youth Education: The Gallatin Conservation District believes that our conservation future lies in the hands of today’s youth.  We are involved in many different projects and workshops to help educate and inspire land stewardship with our youth throughout the year. We also have a number of natural-resource educational resources available for educators of all kinds.

Summer/Fall Stewards: Our annual Summer and Fall Stewards programs occur weekly from mid-June to late August (summer) and bi-weekly from mid-September through November (fall.) This is our main youth education program and we look forward to it every year!

Scholarships: The Gallatin Conservation District offers a $1,000 scholarship in honor of long-time Gallatin Conservation District board member and rancher, John Venhuizen every year.  This scholarship is available to any graduate from a Gallatin County high school seeking a degree in conservation, natural resources, or agriculture from a MT post-secondary school. Check out this and other scholarship opportunities on our scholarships page.
